Based in Rochester, New York, Black Water is a group of seasoned musicians whose excellence shines as they bring all the best of the Doobie Brothers to you!
Black Water is:

Tom Price – Guitar / Vocals
Tom started playing guitar as a teenager influenced by the music of the Beatles and the flood of other groups and artists that followed to the music scene through the 60’s and beyond. Tom enjoys and has played various music genres including country, folk, jazz, rock, r&b, reggae and soul.
Tom has played in various groups, local to Rochester, through the years including the original “Still Kickin” a 70’s party band; “Common Bond”; the “GoldRush” trio; “East Rochester All-Stars”; Beatles tribute band “Mr. Mustard” and acoustic duo “Pullano & Price”.
“As a long time Doobie Brothers fan, I’m honored to be a part of “Black Water” to perform the great music of this iconic group!”

James Richmond – Saxophone / Vocals
Jimmy is the founding member of Prime Time Funk and has been the Music Director for the Rochester Hall of Fame for 10 years. He has toured with legendary Motown recording artists The 4 Tops and The Temptations. Most recently he has been hired by Disney and HBO and in the past has performed and recorded with Lou Gramm, Gene Cornish of the Rascals, Grammy winner Terrance Simien and Grammy nominee CJ Chenier. He has also composed and recorded with Chet Catallo, former member of Spyro Gyra.

Dave Sallade – Guitar / Vocals
Dave is a self-taught musician originally from Pittsburgh, PA. Growing up he was exposed to all kinds of music, started playing guitar around 10 years old and was hooked from there.
Dave played with some notable players in Pittsburgh before moving to the Rochester area at age 18 along with a year long journey in Wyoming.
Dave has played in multiple bands in and around Rochester, currently Lyin’ Eyes and previously including The Kid Kurry Band, Curfew, Gatorface and he was the original guitarist for Zac Brown Tribute Band.

Tim McCullum – Bass / Vocals
Tim first picked up the bass and began singing in bands during his high school years in New Jersey. After performing with groups in the New York City area, a corporate transfer brought him to Rochester, where he quickly connected with the local music scene.
Though he is a skilled bassist and vocalist, Tim prides himself most on being an entertainer who engages and energizes audiences. Over the years, he has performed with a variety of bands including Back in Town, Eggman’s Carnival, Private Drive, Petty Project, and Music of the Stars, along with numerous guest appearances with other local groups. When he’s not making music, Tim enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors—whether it’s hiking, fishing, or camping.

Larry Kovnat – Keyboards
Larry is thrilled to be playing keys in Black Water. He’s been playing in bands around Rochester for many years. Some were strictly cover bands while others did some originals, but always in a rock genre. Most recently he played with The Petty Project holding down the beautifully melodic Benmont Tench leads. Playing with Black Water means covering all the funky Michael McDonald leads. Different styles and different playing demands – it makes for a challenging but fun experience. His gigging gear is a 76-key semi-weighted Nord Electro 6 and a 60-key unweighted Yamaha MOXf6 synth.

Rich Herb – Guitar / Vocals
Rich is the founder of the group with over 50 years of music experience. Rich has opened for the Average White Band, Randy Bachman, The Boxtops, Tommy Rowe and performed with Lou Soloff from Blood Sweat and Tears, to name a few. Currently, Rich plays with Lyin’ Eyes (Eagles tribute), and is excited to also celebrate the music of the Doobie Brothers with you!

Mick George – Percussion & Drums
As a drummer, percussionist, and noisemaker since he was 12 years old, Mick had many influences from the Beatles, Santana, Genesis, Bruce Hornsby, Chicago, Peter Gabriel, Little Feat and the list goes on. Performing with Black Water and sharing the rhythm line with Dave Drum and the other pros he shares the stage with is an honor. If you can’t, sing, dance and reminisce about the Doobie Brothers’ music, you should try the Lawrence Welk show.
“Please enjoy the show, please dance in the aisles and sing along and have a great time!” Peace.

Dave Drum – Drums / Vocals
Dave Drum (yes, he’s heard them all…) is a Rochester NY based drummer. He picked up his first drum sticks at 10 years old. His initial experiences were with school concert and jazz ensembles and quickly evolved into garage jam sessions. Playing the influences of: Mitch Mitchell, Cozy Powell, John Bonham and of course Ringo Starr. Dave’s experience playing local as well as national venues, honed his skills and playing style to one word: versatile. He performs and supports bands with wildly different music genres. To Dave the most important aspect of performing is to “play to the song” and “Be in the pocket and let the music surround me.” It’s been the key to success for years as a working drummer.
